The summer of 2021 was one for the history books here on the island of Maui. Not only were we blessed with light winds and perfect waves, but we were also greeted with people from around the world ready to learn how to surf. After dealing with the ups and downs of 2020, the team at Rivers to the Sea, Maui Surf Lessons couldn’t have been more thrilled to welcome guests back to our shores. The summer vibes were high as we welcomed families from all walks of life into our community and shared our knowledge of the ocean with them. We dearly missed having travelers on our islands and were grateful to share endless amounts of fun and opportunities with them once travel opened back up. With increased safety protocols and a 100% outdoor experience on offer, we operated with complete safety all summer long.
One of our favorite parts of the summer was getting our hands on some fresh new gear for everybody to enjoy. Our updated quiver of new surfboards made a big splash when they hit the water, ridden by surfers with huge smiles and bright new rashguards. Another highlight of 2021 was the addition of two new photographers joining our team at Rivers to the Sea, Maui Surf Lessons. Customers were delighted to bring home memories from their session in the form of professional surf photos taken by our high level team. The professional surf photographers Martin Caprile and Andrew Welker are a great addition to our Ohana and sent our surfers home with the best souvenir you could ask for, a quality photo of an unforgettable experience. Getting to share photos of the fun with friends and family back home is always a huge bonus on top of riding waves in one of the most beautiful places in the world. We feel so fortunate to share a world class experience with our guests day in and day out here on the island of Maui.
